Shell Nigeria Appoints First Female Managing Director

Global energy company, Shell, has appointed Elohor Aiboni as Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd. Representing the first female Managing Director for a Shell exploration company in Nigeria, and following the company’s shift in operation prioritization, Aiboni brings a wealth of experience to the position and is expected to drive the company’s deep offshore operations.

Aiboni has worked with Shell for 19 years with previous positions including Bonga Asset Manager – in which she oversaw end-to-end production delivery for Shell Nigeria’s pioneer deep-water Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel Bonga -; positions in production operations, project and asset management, and operations readiness and assurance; Business Advisor to the Executive Vice President for Shell sub-Saharan Africa; and the management of third-party interfaces across Shell assets in Nigeria and Kazakhstan. Against a backdrop of demonstrated expertise and leadership, Aiboni will drive Shell into a new era of success.

Shell’s Senior Vice President for Nigeria, Marno de Jong, stated that, “Elohor’s appointment is a product of diligence, competence, and commitment to the Shell ideals and core values, amidst our strong focus on diversity and inclusion.
