South Sudanese oilfield services company Nile Drilling & Services and petroleum drilling manufacturer Tianjin DFXK Petroleum, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the acquisition of two additional drilling rigs for the development of South Sudan’s oilfields at the sixth edition of the South Sudan Oil & Power (SSOP) 2023 conference and exhibition. “We are here fully ready to join hands with Nilepet, with Nile Drilling & Services, to provide the maximum support for the oil and gas industry development [in South Sudan],” stated Tianjin DFXK Petroleum’s signatory.

Serving as South Sudan’s first locally owned petroleum drilling company, the addition of two extra drilling rigs is poised to demonstrate Nile Drilling & Services’ commitment to bringing energy wealth to East Africa. Through its partnership with Tianjin DFXK Petroleum, the state-owned company is set to drive the country’s domestic economy while developing high-value projects.

Taking place under the theme, ‘The Engine of East African Growth’ and on the cusp of numerous advancements in South Sudan’s energy sector, SSOP 2023 comes at a pivotal moment for a country that has emerged as the cornerstone for energy development in East Africa. Held in partnership with South Sudan’s Ministry of Petroleum, SSOP is where deals are made, where projects are launched, and where industries are built.
