In the past year, Eni has recorded an increase in the production of 50,000 barrels of oil per day in Angola.
The increase in production is due to Eni’s investment in the 15/06 block of the Angolan offshore, which is estimated at $100 million.
Eni CEO, Claudio Descalzi, said that the oil company plans to spend billions of dollars in exploration and development of new offshore areas next year.
During a meeting with President João Lourenço in Luanda to discuss Eni’s operational activities in the country, Mr Descalzi said that the participation of the oil company in the studies and exploration of crude oil and in other sector-related projects was a key discussion topic.
The extension of Block 15/06 contractual area positions Angola as one of the core countries in Eni’s exploration growth strategy.
Endorsed by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Africa Oil & Power will organize the first Angola Oil & Gas conference, which will be held on June 4-6, 2019 in Luanda. Registration is now open.
