Swiss-based subsea construction company Allseas has secured a contract with global energy major bp to complete pipelay works for the ultra-deep Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) natural gas project offshore Mauritania and Senegal.

Allseas will leverage its Pioneering Spirit vessel and its Oceanic vessel to install and connect approximately 75km of outstanding two 16-inch export pipelines and four 10-inch pipelines with field termination assemblies.

The construction firm says it will kickstart the works as from early December 2023.

“This agreement demonstrates both our willingness and ability to take on highly complex and pipelay projects with fast-track planning and execution scopes,” said Pieter Heerema, Chief Executive Allseas.

Works being undertaken by Allseas will enable bp to achieve first gas production from GTA in the first quarter of 2023.
