Algeria and Germany have signed a declaration of intent to boost cooperation on green hydrogen development. As part of the partnership, the two countries will form a bilateral hydrogen working group.
Poised to facilitate the framework conditions for the production, storage and transport of green hydrogen, the bilateral partnership will support private sector investment in Algeria while driving energy security in Europe.
Boasting significant wind and solar resources, Algeria is well positioned to drive local content and socioeconomic development on the back of its burgeoning green hydrogen sector.
Algeria aims to export 10% of the EU’s green hydrogen needs by 2040, offering significant investment opportunities for renewable energy developers and service companies in the region.
